Safety is key
Safety is at the centre of everything that we do. Our drivers are trained to the highest standard and we encourage a positive Health and Safety culture within the business. Preventative reporting systems such as near miss forms and an open dialogue with the Transport Management Team are in place. All concerns are reported, investigated, and actioned with feedback given in a timely manner. It is simple, if it is not safe, we do not do it. We aim to have zero incidents and for everyone to go home safe every day. Road safety is a key element, we are FORS Gold accredited demonstrating our commitment to road safety, training, and operational compliance. Our vehicles are fitted with Direct Vision Standard systems, and we are rolling out additional progressive systems to comply with changes to requirements from October 2024. Our fleet of Renault tractor units are maintained on our own site by our local dealer, they undergo regular servicing and preventative maintenance to ensure they are compliant and reliable. Our fleet of tanker trailers are maintained in house by our own workshop to the highest standard. We have invested heavily in our workshop over the last couple of years in training for staff and additional equipment and facilities including a state-of-the-art Roller Brake Tester that can simulate loads on tankers to perform regular loaded brake tests without the need for a load. Drivers conduct a thorough walkround check at the start and end of each day using their smartphone. The vehicles and trailers are fitted with QR codes that drivers have to scan as they perform their check to ensure that all areas are checked every time. Any defects are instantly reported to the Transport Manager and Workshop for action to be taken ensuring our fleet remains safe and roadworthy at all times.

Our operations team ensure are efficient and demonstrate excellent attention to detail, which is key in any operation, but particularly in bulk powder movements with potentially sensitive products. Unfortunately, sometimes things do not go to plan (last minute customer requests, traffic, weather, mechanical breakdown etc), this is always a risk to any transport business. Our team are here to keep you informed and work flexibly to meet your needs and ensure we deliver on both your expectations and also the expectations of your customers. We constantly monitor delivery performance and can provide tailored KPI reports to ensure compliance with customer expectations. In the unlikely event of contract performance standards not being met, this will be investigated, and appropriate remedial action taken. To further ensure contract performance and customer service, regular meetings with your team and ours can take place to discuss any issues. We believe communication is key and collaborating with our customers ensures that we get the best possible solution.

A Sustainable Choice
Sustainability is key for any organisation and is something we take very seriously. The basics are that all of our vehicles are Euro 6 emission standard, our drivers are well trained, and their driving style is monitored using sophisticated telematics data including AI detection to ensure we are as fuel efficient as possible. We constantly monitor our MPG and emissions data and have seen and almost 10% reduction in CO2 emissions and more than a 3% improvement in fuel economy from 2022 to 2023, something of which we are immensely proud. We are further reducing our emissions by reducing energy consumption and water usage in addition to sourcing sustainable energy for our operating centres. In addition to the more obvious, we have implemented a tyre policy that uses re-tread tyres on suitable applications. This minimises tyre disposal by giving tyres up to 250% of their original casing life. We are investigating alternative fuel options to further reduce our carbon footprint. Due to the nature of the work we do, electric vehicle technology is not there yet. Other alternative fuels such as Gas and Hydrogen are not currently offered by our preferred manufacturer, these are being rolled out shortly and we are keen to trial a demonstrator in the near future.
In the short term we would be able to offer a HVO solution to reduce our existing CO2 emissions by up to 90%. HVO can be used in our existing fleet to avoid wastage and is already readily available. There is unfortunately an additional cost against traditional diesel although the price gap is closing. The cost can be calculated using the existing fuel escalator. We are committed to achieving Net Zero and our current target is 2035. We are passionate about the environment and the world we live in, and we are working hard to achieve our reduction goals. Goals and progress are reviewed and measured on our road to net zero. We love to work with customers and share ideas on how we can reduce our emissions on their deliveries, and we are always open to a collaborative approach to carbon reduction with our customers. As well as being sustainable for the environment, we believe that financial sustainability is important too. We are a well-established business with years of experience in our industry. The rates proposed are sustainable and we factor in an annual increase where appropriate in line with inflation to ensure that our operation remains sustainable without the need to cut corners. Our approach ensures that we are able to consistently perform to the highest standard and continue to invest in safety, technology, and environmental sustainability options.
