Time Frame: 12 Months
Client: UK-based Cement Importer
Brief: We were approached by a new client seeking to establish a cement import terminal in the UK. The key factors were that the facility needed to be centrally located with easy access both by deep water vessels and to the main trunk road network. To ensure operational flexibility the silo had to be able to accommodate both conventional and larger pneumatic vessels.
Operation: Damac Group, through its subsidiary Damac Bulk Handling, sourced and secured a prime location in Hull for this project. This fulfilled the requirement to accommodate deep water vessels and provided access to the main motorway network for onward distribution.
We arranged for the design and build of a purpose-built bulk cement silo and ensured the smooth project management throughout.
The facility has a capacity of 6,000m3 and stands 56 metres high.
The innovative design enables us to operate the silo both from onsite and to load remotely if required. This ensures a smooth and seamless operation.
The entire project from signing of contract to effective date of completion was within the 12-month timeframe agreed and delivered within budget.
